About Us

Mission

To teach and to live the love, grace and power of Jesus Christ.

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Matthew 28: 18-20

Vision

To watch and see God at work all around us and join Him in His work.

Jesus watched to see where the Father was at work and joined Him.

John 5:17, 19-20 John 15:5, John 14:26, John 14:6

Historical Facts of SFCC

The people of Shallow Ford Community decided they needed a church on this side of the Haw River. They had crossed the river at shallow fords to get to Bethlehem Church in Altahamaw that was established approximately 3 years earlier. But, in winter months or rainy seasons, crossing the river could be dangerous. They held their first service in a bush arbor near Dry Creek. From that bush arbor came Shallow Ford Meeting House. Around 1834 or 1835, the first building was erected near the location of the present site. In later years, it became known as Shallow Ford Christian Church.
